Kingston, Jamaica – September 10, 2025 — The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the wider football fraternity on the passing of former national player Allan “Skill” Cole, who died on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the age of 74.
Cole enjoyed a distinguished playing career, representing Jamaica with pride and professionalism. Internationally, he featured for Nautico F.C. in Brazil in 1972 and for the Atlanta Chiefs in the United States in 1968. On the domestic scene, he left an indelible mark with Real Mona, Boys’ Town, and Santos Football Clubs.
Beyond football, Cole also contributed significantly to Jamaica’s cultural legacy, serving as tour manager for Bob Marley and The Wailers during the 1970s, further cementing his place as a figure of national pride across sport and entertainment.
Reflecting on his passing, Interim General Secretary of the JFF, Mr. Roy Simpson, shared:
“It was only on Sunday that we made arrangements for him to attend last night’s World Cup Qualifier at the National Stadium. To now hear of his passing is heartbreaking. We will miss his presence at the office, though we know his spirit will continue to guide us. Allan ‘Skill’ Cole was an outstanding ambassador for Jamaica. He represented us with distinction and always made us proud to be Jamaican. His attitude, leadership, and determination, both on and off the pitch, are examples to emulate. He will be deeply missed.”
The JFF joins the nation in mourning the loss of a true icon, whose remarkable contribution to football and culture will be cherished for generations to come.
